BIRDWATCHING

The term birdwatching originated in North America in the early 20th century, defined as the hobby of observing birds. However, for us (Brazilians), we affectionately call the activity of bird observation in their natural habitat “passarinhar,” without altering the environment or their behavior.

Given the well-preserved diversity of flora in the Inn’s area, a survey was conducted by Antônio Silveira between January 5th and 7th, 2005. A list of observed birds for the region of Santo Antônio do Pinhal, São Paulo, was compiled during this survey, identifying 38 families and 78 bird species.

More than just a hobby, “passarinhar” is an excellent way to connect with nature and raise awareness about the importance of protecting animals in natural environments.
